SYNOPSIS
After the summer holidays, the young Alessio forced back to school confined in a wheelchair , because of a road accident. Although Alessio tries to never lose the good humor and the love to live, this new reality creates to him many difficulties in relationships with friends and with girls, and many hardships in daily practical needs, caused mainly by architectural barriers, among which stands out a wall that no one decides to break down and than separating the boy from the backyard outside the school. The friends of Alessio try not to give him more importance to his new condition, while Ricky, the bully of the school, doesn't miss opportunity to humiliate him. After the problems whereby runs into the attempt to to live a love story whith a girl called Giulia met during a pool therapy, Alessio finds comfort in the hang glider flight. One day, during a police search, Ricky hides hashish doses in the Alessio's backpack, that ends taking the blame ; everybody know the Ricky's responsibility, which dismiss the charges and therefore it's abandonated by everyone. When Ricky comes back to school after an absence of few days due to a suspension, finding no one, he's got very angry at the mistakes made, he launches whith a larg hammer in the corridors of the school; but his intentions aren't threatening: came out in the yard, Ricky runs to the wall that prohibited the passage to Alessio and throws down it. Alessio who was involved with the others in a school assembly, reaches Ricky, and the two embrase.
DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Being able to speak on the subject of disability and how it is perceived and managed by young people has been my intent from the first draft of the screenplay. A story set in the world of school where, through a story that is split between irony and drama, young people are having to deal with the problem of handicap, when one of their friends at school, Alessio, to return from vacation comes wheelchair due to an accident on the scooter had in the summer. This new reality raises many questions in school and among friends, and even in very complicated affair, with the girls he meets. Especially when the daily difficulties and the lack of removal of architectural barriers creates many problems to Alessio who tries to never lose the good humor and love of life. In particular a wall that no one decides to break down divides Alessio from the courtyard outside the school, forcing him to make him an incredible tour between sidewalks and steps. Alessio and often is forced to stand by and watch friends from behind the wall.
Among the issues that I wanted to emphasize in the film emerge more clearly: disability, change, friendship, teenage love, new opportunities of life to know how to steal, family, school and architectural barriers. The cast includes the participation of well-known actors such as Sandra
Milo, in the role of a brilliant and sympathetic aunt, Antonella Ponziani, in that of a mother deeply affected by the condition of his son, Vincent Soriano, who plays a fervent loving father, Mario Porfito in the role of the school principal, marina occhiena (former member the group of " Ricchi e poveri"), Francesca Antonaci, Aline Pilato and the director Angelo Antonucci in the role of the friend of the protagonist, Andrea. Beside them a group of young people more or less newcomers including the protagonist Luke Mordant who fell deeply in a new condition , dramatic , courageous and sensitive teacher played by Deborah Rinaldi. The engaging movie soundtrack and the theme song were made by the composer Cris Ciampoli
